The Linux Mint team have announced the release of Linux Mint 21.2 LTS, code name “Victoria” which is based on Ubuntu 22.04.

Lets explore the new features in Linux Mint 21.2
Software Manager: The Software Manager has been updated with a new user interface that makes it easier to find and install software. It also includes a new scoring system that helps you choose the best software for your needs.
Kernel and desktop environments: Linux Mint 21.2 is based on Ubuntu 22.04 LTS, which means it comes with the latest version of the Linux kernel (5.15). It also includes the latest versions of the Cinnamon, MATE, and Xfce desktop environments.
Pix image viewer: Pix, the default image viewer in Linux Mint, has been upgraded to the latest version (3.12.2). This includes a number of new features and improvements, such as support for AVIF/HEIF and JXL image formats, improved zoom controls, and the ability to set keyboard shortcuts to activate filters.
Fancy Tooltips: The tooltips in Linux Mint 21.2 have been redesigned to look more modern and consistent. They also now include icons to help you identify the different types of notifications.
Two-Tone Folder Themes and Colors: Linux Mint 21.2 introduces two-tone folder themes and colors. This allows you to customize the look of your folders with different color combinations.
Improved gesture support for window management, media controls, and workspace management. Among other small improvements Slick-greeter also received support for Wayland sessions, LXQT/Pademelon badges and a scrollable session list.
Touchpad support was also improved. Tap-to-click is detected and enabled automatically in the login screen.
The ability to resize the main menu manually.
Notification windows now come with icons to exemplify the message.
System requirements for Linux Mint 21.2 :
- 2GB RAM (4GB recommended for a comfortable usage).
- 20GB of disk space (100GB recommended).
- 1024×768 resolution (on lower resolutions, press ALT to drag windows with the mouse if they don’t fit in the screen).
