KDE stands for K Desktop one of most famous and advanced Desktop environment released KDE Plasma 5.11.1 on 17th October 2017 with over 30 Bugs Fixed. This is update and bug fix release next release will be on plasma 5.11.2 on 24th October,2017. Right now I am using Manjaro with Plasma Desktop 5.10.5 and eagerly waiting for 5.11.1 update.
Whats new in KDE Plasma 5.11.1
- 34 changes are packed into KDE Plasma 5.11.1 release, addressing issues across multiple components, including Plasma Workspace, Plasma Desktop, Plasma Discover, System Settings, KWin, KWayland-integration, KSysGuard, and KSSHAskPass.
- System Monitor KSysGuard : Try to read CPU clock from cpufreq/scaling_cur_freq instead of /proc/cpuinfo.
- The Breeze and Oxygen themes have been improved as well, and among some noteworthy changes, we can mention that it’s now possible to switch between users from the Switch User screen, and application progress works again in the task manager.
- There’s also better support for the upcoming Qt 5.10 application framework for the Plasma Discover package manager, which now uses Kirigami’s is Compact concept.
